The ARIES team is excited to announce its participation in the joint OECD–UNECE seminar on SEEA implementation, taking place 18–20 March 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland. Co-hosted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the seminar will bring together experts and stakeholders to advance the implementation of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA).
During the interactive World Café session, the ARIES team will present its innovative platform, ARIES for SEEA. This platform helps countries adopt the SEEA framework by using artificial intelligence (AI) to automate the integration of diverse data and models. ARIES for SEEA simplifies complex environmental and economic relationships, enabling decision-makers to better understand and manage ecosystem services, natural capital, and environmental resources.
As part of the session, the ARIES team will host a discussion table, facilitating an exchange with other experts about key SEEA topics, including:
- Strategies to improve communication for collecting SEEA-related data
- The use of innovative technologies for compiling SEEA accounts
- Approaches to integrating environmental and economic data to enhance decision-making
The OECD–UNECE seminar will provide a dynamic forum for knowledge sharing and collaboration. The ARIES team is honoured to contribute its expertise, driving progress on SEEA implementation and demonstrating how technology can support evidence-based decision-making for sustainable development.
